Fair Qualifiers

Fair Qualifiers first originated in 2006 as a way of encouraging 4-H members to step out of their comfort zones and try something new, with a heavy focus on public speaking and leadership. Please note that community service projects (other than our county-wide Day of Service) are not included. Community service is a huge component of 4-H (and very important), but already a separate expectation at the club level.

Remember that being able to exhibit at the Fair is not a right; it is an earned privilege. Just like other youth organizations (sports, music, Scouts, etc.), 4-H has minimum requirements and expectations. We do not choose Fair Qualifiers based on ease or convenience, but instead what we feel will help our members grow into strong leaders.

There are over 15 different Fair Qualifiers available each year spread out over a 9 month period. As we hear about upcoming district and state event details, we will let you know.

The Fair Qualifiers for 2022–2023 are listed below. Each 4-H member/Cloverbud is only required to participate in ONE event. Please put these dates on your calendar to ensure you complete a Fair Qualifier early.

We appreciate your understanding as we strive to improve our program and grow confident youth in Loudoun.
